Deep Clean vs. Standard Clean: What's the Difference?

Not sure which cleaning you need? Here's what's included in a standard clean versus a deep clean — and when to book each.

· 4 min read

When you book a cleaning, you'll usually be asked whether you want a standard clean or a deep clean. They're not the same thing — and knowing the difference helps you get the right result for the right price.

Standard (recurring) clean

This is your regular maintenance clean — keeping an already-maintained home consistently fresh. It typically covers:

  • Surfaces dusted and wiped
  • Kitchen and bathrooms cleaned and sanitized
  • Floors vacuumed and mopped
  • Trash emptied and general tidying

Deep clean

A deep clean is more thorough and detailed — it reaches the built-up grime that a standard clean doesn't touch. It adds things like:

  • Baseboards, door frames, and detailed dusting
  • Inside the oven, fridge, and microwave
  • Grout scrubbing and hard-water/soap-scum removal
  • Vents, sills, and behind/under furniture
  • Detailed attention to built-up buildup throughout

Which do you need?

Most first-time cleanings start with a deep clean to get the home to a great baseline — then a standard recurring clean keeps it there. Many clients also book a deep clean seasonally on top of their regular visits. Not sure? We'll take a look and recommend honestly.
